We were there this pass weekend ( June 24 -26) WE LOVED IT. The owners were very friendly. Hope to see you’ll again some time soon. This was the first time our girls were ever on a beach and they LOVED IT.
Stayed here for the month of July just to be down for the Tarpon Rodeo 2011. Reasonable rates. Very Friendly owners Lanny & Michelle were so helpful & fun people to enjoy your time there. Felt real secured there .They live on the property.Stores a block away. Beaches right across the road .Limestone driveways No sand : ) Luv Ya’ll
Lee & Bubba Butler, We were there all Summer and what a wonderful place to stay!! Lanny and Michelle were so gracious and accomodating, park was well maintained, convenient to everything and secure, we have never felt more welcome. We will definitely stay again next year!
Love the place. Lanny and Michelle are great hosts. Having stayed at both the state park and Island House. We will choose Island House every time. The state park doesn’t spray for mosquitoes or have full hook ups. Island House has both. Great place!!!!!!
We have been to the Island 3 times now. The first trip we stayed at another location and did not have a good time. On our second and third trips we stayed at Island House with our daughter with us. Mandy being 14 years old we were concered she would not enjoy the trip. We were greeted and welcomed by owners Lanny and Michelle. Immediately we were welcomed like as if we were family. We were taken on tours of the Island and told of the history and events. We were introduced to town people and felt welcomed by everyone. We went fishing with Lanny and had a great time. Never a dull moment. By the way, Mandy was taught jewelry and bead making with Michelle, loved swiming in the gulf, and the dancing events she went to as well. Grand Isle is now a yearly family vacation and Island house is the only place we will stay. Thank you, Lanny and Michelle for everything.
I always enjoy coming back to the Island and to Island House. We stay here every fall when we come down from Alaska. Lanny and Michelle are wonderful hosts. Over the time we have stayed, we have done some community (potluck) meals with others in the campground, to include shrimp and crayfish boils, and sacks of oysters.
All sties are full hookup with cement pads. Lanny has a system where he has a direct hookup for your sewer lines. Never more than a couple of feet of “slinky” hose.
Lanny is one heck of a fisherman and is willing to share his ideas. Also when he gets a lot, he shares his fish. During our stays here we have gotten to know a number of people who live here on the island and have made life long friends.
We Stayed a week at Island House and enjoyed every minute of it. Lanny and Michelle were the perfect
hosts! The fire ring get togethers were the perfect way to end the day. All of the other campers became
great friends. This will definitly be a destination that will deserve a return trip. Thanks for the fun
My wife & I have been travelling for 6 months in our Airstream and this is, without a doubt, the best stay we’ve had…we intended to spend only a week in Grand Isle, but ended up staying 3 weeks!!! The owners, Lanny & Michelle, are great hosts and definitely will make your stay memorable…they also are outstanding cooks!!!

This is a wonderful campground, Michelle and Lanny make your visit to Grand Isle La. memorable.
Sitting around the fire at night is a great way to meet the other campers. Michelle and Lanny will be as helpful with your visit as you want them to be, go your own way thats alright with them or if you
want them to show you around thats good too. They make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Grand Isle is a great place for the snow birds.
WE SPENT ALMOST A MONTH AND WAS SO VERY PLEASE WITH THE CARE THE OWNERS TOOK WITH US AND THE OTHER PEOPLE SPENDING TIME IN THEIR PARK. A GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE BEACH. PLEASANT COMPANY, HOSTS THAT REALLY CARE. GO AND CHECK IT OUT!!!
My family of 11 just spent two nights and the kids didn’t want to leave! Lanny does such a wonderful job at making you feel at home. He is a very pleasant person and we enjoyed getting to know him. Our children will always have great memories of Grand Isle due to the help of Lanny. Thank you so much!
If you are traveling to Grand Isle, LA in an RV there is only one place to stay. Island House! Wonderful people, great park, family atmosphere and reasonable rates. The only hard part is leaving:(
We spent the month of nov. 2012 there had a great time. Lanny & Michelle were great hosts. We went fishing with Lanny and had a lot of fun and caught fish. Lanny also hooked us up with a tuna fishing trip which was great. Caught a yellow finn tuna, cant tell you how much fun that was. Thank you Lanny & michelle for being such great hosts and friends
Debbie and I drove south for the night from New Orleans to avoid a storm in April . We ended up meeting Lanny and Michelle at their park ,That one night turned into eight ! What Great people ! From the history lessons of the Island and surrounding areas,To being shown around the Island they were amazing ! So if you find yourself on Gand Isle La. looking for a place to park for the night or to Stay a spell, Island House Rv park is the place ! Thanks L & M for your hospitality !

I spent two great weeks at Island House. The hospitality was exceptional. Lanny is a source of information to get immersed in the island culture. I met some great people there. This is the best place on the island to have the Grand Isle experience. I hope to return.
After six months traveling the country, we dropped in to Island House for a couple days in October. That quickly became 2 full weeks, and we’d still be there if we hadn’t already made other plans. It immediately felt like every island dream you’ve ever dreamt. That wonderful feeling of tranquility, of happiness, of time moving at a slower pace begins to envelop you as soon as you step out of the car. Lanny and Michelle are the perfect hosts, quick to respond to any request, but invisible when you’re lost in an island daydream. Want to fish? got it. Want to swim? Sunbathe? Bicycle? Stroll? Tell fireside fish tales? Got those too. Can’t wait to go back.
My name is Rex McCracken. I’m 69 years old. I’ve done a lot of RVing and vacationing in my life. I stayed at Island House RV park Sept. 28 – Dec. 14. I want to go on record saying I’ve never had so much fun in all my life. Wonderful fishing experience. Lanny and Michelle are the most gracious people I’ve ever met. I met and made a lot of great new friends at IH.

Hospitality at its finest, Michelle and Lanny went out of their way to help us with a medical emergency and we can’t be thankful enough. I have never met two people that are committed to their guests like Michelle and Lanny. Island House is number one on our list. My wife and I will come back whenever possible.
